Beardance was formed in late 2019 by Artistic Director Rory Francis. Our first production, the short play night Play Time, was due to be performed in May 2020 at Southwark Playhouse, but was unfortunately cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the ensuing national lockdown. Undeterred, we released Texts in Isolation, a series of online audio shorts, in August 2020, with a follow up series released in March 2021.

After emerging from lockdown, we finally produced our short play night, retitled Let’s Try This Again, at Canada Water Theatre in October 2022. We also produced Brighter, a solo show about living with bipolar disorder, which we performed at Rotunda Theatre: Squeak as part of Brighton Fringe Festival, as well as Applecart Arts in London.

We are currently conducting research and development on other projects.
